GREEN STRATEGY FOR BUILDING DESIGN

This module focuses on investigating passive sustainable approaches in architectural design. It delves into the various components that constitute architecture and examines how incorporating passive design strategies with these components enhances the overall spatial experience within a building. Students will engage in case studies to analyze the implementation of these strategies and their influence on the spatial quality and experience. By comprehending the different passive sustainable design strategies, students will gain valuable insights that will inform their own studio projects.
Assignment 1 : Passive Green Building Case Studies Poster and Booklet
Students are expected to be able to describe passive sustainable design, its green technologies and its applicable design strategies. Analyze passive sustainable design strategies in relation to climate and culture and compare their impact on space and user experience. Students will have to learn to critically appraise application of chosen strategies within different cases and analyze theories and principles of passive green building design strategies.
Assignment 2 : Passive Green Building Strategies Report
Project 2 focuses on analyze theories and principles of passive green building design strategies and to integrate understanding of sustainable design strategies in the development of architectural design which is related to our AD4 Project 2.
Reflection
In GSBD, firstly I definitely opened my eyes to the green strategies that can be implemented, we learned a lot about different green strategies in different climates while doing the projects. As for P, I would say I pushed myself to learn a lot of new softwares such as photoshop, illustrator and enscape, also revit sunpath. I had fun during the learning process as I gained a lot in return. Besides, I also learned a lot about the different facades, and also the green cell concept while going to site visit. Talb\king about site visit, I learned a lot about the air well, the green cell the connected planter box and the facade from the Suasana PJH building. It is the most important for me as I did use it in my P2 building as facade as well. In short I learned a lot form my friends, turors and lecturers, hope all of those will help me grow in the future.
